If you want me
I’ll be sitting in the room.
You won’t hear me
but I’ll be there.
Reading headlines
while I sip my tea.
Once in a bit
I stop and stare.
Then I go back
to quiet little box.
Where I’ll feign
tranquility.
The inner me wants
to say just how I feel.
Just not sure
if I’ll ever relate.
How I dig my outer silence
What goes on just stays inside.
With no sound outside or in.
Wouldn’t even know where to begin.
Why would I break my silence?
Don’t want anyone coming in.
A restless world; churning.
Turning pages, passing time.
What I see;
loss of any sanity.
Fills me up and
I burn inside.
About time I stand
in this no man’s land.
