It happens during nightfall when the darkness steals the show.
A feeling of warmth enshrouds me & I lose all control.
It all seems so easy if I surrender up my soul.
The faces within the mirror cast doubt on being whole.
Glory, glory, glory to the voices that I hear.
Glory, glory, glory to whoever holds me near.
Glory, glory, glory to whoever leads the way.
Glory to the driving force that gets me thru my day.
It’s an unexpected sequence that manages to unfold
I’ve always kept it hidden, fearful of some big, black hole.
You can’t deny a power that is almost a possess
So I decide to ride it as a form of a confess.
Call it a mantra; call it a crutch.
It’s better that I handle this
Than to lose touch.
I’ve been bottled up for so long,
Compression gas, about to fly
You’ve done a lot and thank you, ma’am.
But I’ve just idled by.
The choice I have to make is almost not mine to make at all.
I finally found the faith in me
And I am answering the call.
Glory, glory, glory to the voices that I hear.
Glory, glory, glory to whoever holds me near.
Glory, glory, glory to whoever leads the way.
Glory to the driving force that gets me thru my day.
I don’t let an inch slide.
I don’t let a moment go by.
I just can’t get inside.
I just cannot rest at all on any given day.
Is there something out there? Is there a truth we all should know?
I’ll be searching for the glory until it’s time to go.
Everybody has a complex, I know ’bout mine for sure.
I’m kinda full on that mark, don’t leave your bundles at my door.
