It started in a town that had fallen on hard times
But the best came out of there, years have not been kind
When you’re trying for the top, but it all slips away
It’s just so god dam easy for one to go astray
I’m told you hit rock bottom before success is really felt
Couldn’t tell you, really, ‘cause I’ve fallen down the well.
Climbing out the hole
Climbing out the hole
Breakfast, lunch and dinner w/my savior: Rock n Roll.
I only hope I get there, don’t wanna sell my soul.
Just wanna taste some glory after
Climbing out the hole.
Heard you’re coming back (as the crowd begins to roar).
I’ve gathered all my goodies, closed the windows, locked the doors.
Threw it all in the car, came to meet you at the train
I’d stand there in a diaper in a driving, pouring rain
We went out to the old town, got really sad and shed a tear.
Just what the hell was in this place that got us from there to over here?
Climbing out the hole.
Climbing out the hole.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner w/my savior: Rock n Roll.
I only hope I get there, don’t wanna sell my soul.
Just wanna taste some glory after
Climbing out the hole.
Had to get right to it, couldn’t wait, the time was right.
We couldn’t fix it all, my head was spinning really tight.
I needed lots of guidance, always walked around half lost.
Now I’m jumping in full metal just not caring ‘bout the cost.
If nothing ever comes of this, nothing ventured, nothing gained.
I will sadly pack you in the car and drive you to the train.
I’ve done a lot of things and of myself there’s not much pride.
My closet doors wide open, there’s really nothing left to hide.
Can’t blame the neighborhood or the way I was raised.
There have been some accomplishments but not looking for some praise.
Just looking for some folks to take it to the top.
I know I’ll need a ton of help so I never quit or stop.
Climbing out the hole.
Climbing out the hole.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner w/my savior: Rock n Roll.
I only hope I get there, don’t wanna sell my soul.
Just wanna taste some glory after
Climbing out the hole.
